A school worker has been accused of carrying out a spate of brutal ‘hamster massacres’ at love hotels in a case that has shocked Japan.
The 36-year-old high school staffer was arrested on Monday over the killing of around 30 hamsters, weeks after he was detained for allegedly stomping another 20 to death.
Police say he teamed up with two women, aged 19 and 20, to kill around 50 hamsters in two separate attacks at so-called ‘love hotels’, short-stay accommodation typically used by couples.
