Mother, 57, died after e-bike ‘hit-and-run’ as she crossed the road in Liverpool: Man, 31, appears in court over ‘manslaughter’

A man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after a mother died following a hit-and-run by an e-bike.

Joanne Doyle, 57, died in hospital after being hit by the bike while on a zebra crossing on Mount Vernon Street, Liverpool, at around 3.35pm on July 7.

Kieran Sewards, 31, pleaded not guilty to one charge of manslaughter and another of section 20 wounding.

Ms Doyle’s family called her ‘loving, kind and amazing’ in a tribute released by Merseyside Police.

They said she was a ‘kind-hearted, generous soul who always put others before herself,’ adding: ‘She was tragically and suddenly taken from us far
