Family pay tribute to ‘inseparable’ elderly couple who were found dead by their carer: Police quiz man in his 40s over stabbing

The family of an elderly couple stabbed to death at their home have described them as ‘inseparable’. 

Haji Ismail Ahmed Leli, 80, and Hajiyani Fatima Ismail Leli, 78, have been named as the tragic pair who died in Blackburn, Lancashire, on Monday.

Police were called to a terraced home after the couple were reportedly found with stab wounds by their carers. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation was launched and a man in his 40s has been arrested. He remains in custody.
