The UK’s air traffic control boss was given a week to save his job today as passengers face more flights chaos.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander ordered NATS chief Martin Rolfe to report back on the ‘completely unacceptable’ situation at a meeting this morning.
However, he will not be ousted before then, with Downing Street insisting he retains the Government’s confidence.
Some 1,300 flights to and from UK airports were disrupted yesterday and the carnage has continued, with furious airlines branding Mr Rolfe an ‘overpaid failure’ and saying they are ‘surprised’ he is still in post.
