City of Culture named as cheapest British city for a big night out

Hull has been named the cheapest city in Britain for a big night out – with five drinks, a kebab and a cab home costing just £35.50.

In the 2017 City of Culture, the drinks averaged £21, the kebab £7, and the cab £7.50.

London was, unsurprisingly, the most expensive city with £45.50 drinks, £8.50 kebab and £16 cab totalling £70.

Second cheapest in the study by ticket supplier Skiddle was Newport at £42, followed by Glasgow (£45), Sheffield (£46) and Coventry (£47). 

The most expensive after the capital were Brighton (£64) and Manchester (£58).
