Barclays bankers demand one-off payment to return to office just three days a week

Barclays bankers who work from home are demanding more money to return to the office just three days a week.

The bank is facing a growing backlash over its return-to-office plans with thousands of staff backing calls for a one-off ‘time in office payment’ as well as help with the cost of travel, parking and childcare.

They are also demanding an exemption for those who live more than 40 minutes away and over Christmas, the summer and school holidays.

Barclays currently expects thousands of its UK workforce to be in the office two days a week.
