Charles warns tech giants of AI ‘dangers’: King gathers industry bosses to discuss rapid development and regulation

The King told tech chiefs that ‘our humanity must remain sacred’ in the race for AI supremacy as he hosted the new ‘masters of the universe’ on Thursday.

Convening leaders from the world’s biggest AI companies in Scotland, Charles voiced his concern that its ‘existential dangers’ must be tackled now before technology falls ‘into the wrong hands’.

Echoing increasing warnings from those in the industry, he said that AI ‘risks developing darker capacities’ to the extent it may ‘perhaps even take life’.

He added: ‘Surely, we need sufficient means of control before it is all too late?’
