A mother-son duo were discovered by the police a week after they tragically died in their yard in southwest Georgia.
Identified by the police as Emma R Handler, 89, and William Womack, 68, the victims were found dead in their house located off Highway 118 in the Leslie area of Sumter County.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call at approximately 8.30am to the area for a welfare check on September 22.
The victims were identified as a man and his mother, WALB reported.
The police said that when first responders arrived on the scene, they found a deceased female first.
