The Sikh man who stabbed Henry Nowak to death then lied to police that he was the victim of a racist attack has been given permission to appeal the length of his sentence.
Vickrum Digwa, 23, was sentenced to a minimum of 21 years in June for the murder of student Mr Nowak, 18, in Southampton in December.
He killed Mr Nowak, who was walking home from a night out, using a blade he said he carried as part of his Sikh faith.
Attorney General Ellie Reeves referred the sentence to the Court of Appeal as ‘unduly lenient’ in June.
