The co-pilot who attempted to hijack an Israel-bound flight posted videos of Al Qaeda leaders and clips appearing to show plans to target Israeli planes three years ago.

Omani national Hamam Al Hammami, 29, severely wounded captain Smit Machchhar using the onboard crash axe as he tried to take control of the Flydubai plane on its way to Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

The prosecutor general of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Saif al-Shamsi, said this morning that the co-pilot was ‘attempting to carry out a terrorist act’.
