A convicted killer had his sentence thrown out after an AI clip of his victim speaking from beyond the grave clouded a judge’s decision, a court has ruled.
Gabriel Horcasitas, 55, was found guilty of fatally shooting Christopher Pelkey, 37, during a road-rage confrontation in 2021 in Chandler, Arizona.
The shooter was sentenced to 10 and a half years behind bars in May 2025, but his legal team has since appealed, arguing that the trial judge should not have allowed an AI video of Pelkey to play in court ahead of the sentencing.
