Cristiano Ronaldo hit with Portugal suspension after walking out of international duty amid row with Jorge Jesus – as Portuguese FA opens disciplinary investigation

Portugal have suspended Cristiano Ronaldo after he dramatically stormed out of camp following an explosive fallout with manager Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo threw his toys out of the pram last month, claiming Portugal boss Jesus ‘broke promises’ by leaving him on the bench during their 2-1 Nations League win over Norway.

The 41-year-old icon said a plan had been drawn up for him to come off the bench for 30 minutes, but Jesus made him warm up without bringing him on because he ‘didn’t need Cristiano’.

Before Portugal’s match against Denmark, football’s all-time leading goalscorer is understood to have agreed to an eight-point statement for Jesus
