Among fellow students in his journalism class at the University of Worcester, Benjamin Day was viewed as entirely unremarkable.
‘He was pleasant enough, if a bit aloof,’ one contemporary who joined the course alongside him in September 2024 told the Daily Mail.
‘He was polite and attentive in lectures, but generally he just didn’t stand out at all.’
The only unusual feature about Day, in fact – other than his propensity to keep his coat on indoors, even on warm days – was his decision to switch his studies to an applied biology and forensics course last September.
