Storm Boelo has battered Britain with gusts of 85mph as a man was killed by a falling tree amid ‘devastating’ floods and power cuts.
Winds peaked at 60-70mph in the warning zone – including Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland and the far north of England.
Gusts reached more than 80mph in exposed coastal spots, the Met Office said.
Meanwhile parts of Scotland have been flooded as ‘danger to life’ warnings were issued.
And several railway lines have been forced to close down due to storm damage, with the tracks at Dalmarnock train station completely covered in water as the floods nearly reached the platform.
