Being married to Katy Perry left convicted rapist Russell Brand feeling ‘inadequate’ as he resented her dream of becoming the world’s ‘most famous pop star’.
Brand, 51, who was this week convicted of rape and three counts of sexual assault and is facing years behind bars, is said to have become frustrated by his former wife’s ambition.
The pair met in 2009 on the set of Get Him To The Greek, when Perry, 42, filmed a cameo for the movie which briefly propelled Brand to the status of Hollywood’s darling.
They then met up again at the MTV Video Music Awards three months
