First union calls for Starmer’s head after local elections disaster as jubilant Farage celebrates Reform ‘wipeout’ and begs PM NOT to quit

Keir Starmer is facing demands from union bosses for his head today as Labour suffers a nightmare battering from voters in local elections.

The TSSA chief called for a new leader who can prevent a ‘catastrophe’ for the party,  with results overnight showing a bloodbath across English councils. A meltdown is also looming in the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Senedd later.

Sir Keir has admitted the situation is ‘tough’ and ‘unnecessary mistakes’ had been made.
