THE proportion of voters who think immigration has been ‘mostly bad’ for the UK has jumped by nearly a third amid ministers’ failure to stop the boats.

A poll found more than four in ten (43 per cent) Britons now think migration has been mostly bad for the UK, up from 33 per cent a decade ago.

Just one in five voters said they thought migration has been ‘mostly good’ for the country.

Attitudes have even hardened among people who voted to remain in the European Union in the 2016 referendum.
