It may have been a sweltering summer but Britons are also ‘feeling the heat’ due to the soaring cost of a family BBQ.

The price of a typical shopping list for a cookout has soared over the past five years, according to a report, with ‘Trumpflation’ sending global costs of food and fuel soaring.

A meal of burgers, sausages and corn on the cobs for a family of four was £14.28 from Tesco and £12.69 from Waitrose in 2021, according to the research.
