Police vow to examine allegations of illegal ‘family voting’ at local elections after dossier shows  staff recorded concerns at 50 polling stations across Birmingham

Police have vowed to look into evidence of illegal family voting at the local elections after it was exposed by the Daily Mail.

West Midlands Police said it would work with the Electoral Commission watchdog and Birmingham City Council, England’s biggest town hall, to review the dossier of claims by polling station staff about widespread attempts to influence voters.

A spokesman for the force told this newspaper: ‘We will be assessing new information that has come to light and will work with Birmingham City Council and the Electoral Commission as part of the review process.’
