Miss USA crowns a mom as its winner for first time… days after organization was hit with shock lawsuit

For the first time in history, the Miss USA beauty pageant has chosen a mom as its winner.

The 75th edition of the national pageant took place in Miami, Florida, on Thursday and 51 contestants competed.

Miss Virginia USA Justus Kelley, 31, was chosen as the winner, and it was a historic feat as she became the first-ever mother to be crowned Miss USA.

For more than 70 years, the organization had strict rules for its winners, including that they were not allowed to be mothers or have been married.

But in August 2022, Miss USA announced that it would change the rules in 2023
