A top Republican pollster has identified a key question that has predicted electoral outcomes for nearly 80 years.
That indicator answers the question of which party Americans trust more to handle the issue most important to them in a given election year.
Patrick Ruffini, a pollster at Echelon Insights, highlighted in a recent Substack post that Democrats currently lead Republicans on that question by 11 points.
Per the latest polling from Gallup, 44 percent of respondents chose the Democrats, compared to 33 percent who picked Republicans.
Another 23 percent see little difference between the two parties, prefer another party or have no opinion.
