A 27-year-old woman has been charged after a police officer was shot in Nottingham city centre over the weekend.
Aisha Zaman, of Collison Street, Hyson Green, has been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of that firearm with intent.
She was remanded into custody and will appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Zaman is one of seven people to have been arrested in connection with the shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The unidentified officer approached two people acting suspiciously at a bus stop in Angel Row at around 4:50am – before being shot in the foot.
