A seven-year-old boy has been left in a ‘serious condition’ in hospital after being struck by a car on a city centre road.
The crash between a silver Volkswagen Polo and the boy, who was riding a scooter, took place at around 4pm on Wednesday in, Hanley, Stoke.
Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were scrambled to the scene and the child was airlifted to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Police said on Thursday the boy remains in a serious but stable condition.
The force has also issued an appeal for witnesses.
