Barcelona END their interest in Marcus Rashford and send him back to Man United after refusing to pay just £26m for him

Barcelona are sending Marcus Rashford back to Manchester United and he will not play for them next season, according to reports in Spain this morning.

The England forward, 28, was available for just a £26million fee as part of his loan agreement to the Catalan club – but they are not willing to pay.

Barcelona have signed Rashford’s World Cup team-mate Anthony Gordon, 25, for £70million from Newcastle United. The Man United star’s big wages would’ve added significant extra costs to any deal.

Marca says Gordon was picked ahead of Rashford because of his defensive work, the United forward’s ‘weakest point’, and their three-year age
