Boris Becker had a £5,000 watch seized from him by bailiffs on behalf of his ex-wife, moments before he was due to be interviewed on stage, Lilly Becker’s lawyer has revealed.
At an event on Sunday celebrating the 30th anniversary of a caravan dealer in the western German town of Bad Honnef, the tennis legend had the timepiece taken from him just before he was about to be interviewed by Sky Sports Germany presenter Riccardo Basile.
At around 2pm local time, three police officers, along with a bailiff from Königswinter District Court, entered the building the event was held in and found Becker.
