Duolingo restores boy’s streak after he missed lesson due to hospital stay …before being inundated with requests from other chancers

A heartwarming interaction between Duolingo and the parent of a boy who lost his language-learning streak while in the hospital was short-lived after the company was inundated with ridiculous requests from other users demanding the same.

A parent reached out to the popular language-learning app through X on Tuesday after their ten-year-old son lost his streak of more than 300 days.

A streak is built on Duolingo by returning to the app daily to complete lessons, which consist of game-style learning activities such as matching exercises, translation drills and many others.

‘He’s home and recovering, but heartbroken about losing his streak. Any chance
