The government’s case to move forward with expanding Heathrow Airport has not been “sufficiently made” and heavily relies on outdated evidence from 2015, the Mayor of London has said.

Ministers are currently reviewing development proposals to install a third runway at the West London site, having backed it earlier this year despite opposition from local and environmental campaigners.

Sir Sadiq Khan has opposed the expansion for years due to the “severe impact it will have on noise, air pollution and meeting our climate change targets”.
