Nearly three in four Britons would ban asylum seekers from countries where women aren’t safe or treated equally, a poll has found.
Seven in ten (73 per cent) respondents said they would vote against men being allowed to enter the UK from countries where rape, child abuse and domestic violence are ‘widespread’, as well as where women are not treated equally.
Just 13 per cent said they wouldn’t vote against men from such countries being allowed to claim asylum.
