Dame Jenni Murray died after she was dazzled by headlights and collided with two stationary vehicles, a coroner heard today.
The journalist and broadcaster, who hosted Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 for 33 years and was a Daily Mail columnist, died in hospital a week after the incident, aged 75.
The accident happened on March 4 about a mile from Dame Jenni’s north London home, as she was driving along Wildwood Road adjacent to Hampstead Heath.
Today at the inquest into her death, north London area coroner Tony Murphy recorded ‘road traffic collision’ as his overall conclusion.
