Moment Spanish flag-waving Ceuta locals storm and set makeshift migrant camp on fire – as minister calls for calm

Spanish flag-waving Ceuta locals have stormed a makeshift migrant camp and set it on fire amid rising tensions about the ‘invasion’ of the enclave.

Residents in the North African enclave remain up in arms after more than 70,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta from neighbouring Morocco last month.

There has been growing frustration amongst locals over the handling of the situation in Ceuta which culminated with an attack on the makeshift camp.  

Video footage shows thousands of locals charging down and destroying the camp on Thursday as droves of worried migrants watch on.
