Boy, 15, is rescued after clinging on to capsized boat for two days in Alaska’s Bering Sea after his brother and cousin drowned

A 15-year-old boy has been rescued after he was found clinging to a capsized boat in Alaska‘s frigid Bering Sea for roughly two days.

Derek Parker Aghnaanga went out fishing last Friday with his older brother and cousin when their boat capsized.

Both of Aghnaanga’s family members died, while he managed to survive on top of the overturned vessel.

He was finally hoisted to safety on Monday by a fishing boat after being spotted near St. Lawrence Island, while the bodies of his cousin and brother were also recovered.

Footage of the rescue shows Aghnaanga in a bright yellow jacket kneeling atop the overturned skiff.
