Man in his 30s is arrested after teenage girl ‘raped under bridge in daylight attack’

A man has been arrested after a teenage girl was allegedly raped under a bridge near a football stadium in broad daylight.

Police were called to Novi Sad bridge, which is located close to Norwich City’s Carrow Road, at around 12.40pm on Tuesday.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of rape, police said.

He has been taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, the Eastern Daily Press reported.

A tent was set up under the bridge and the area cordoned off.

It has since been removed and the cordon lifted.

The Daily Mail has contacted Norfolk Constabulary for further comment.
