A New York City commuter was killed after the closing doors of a subway car trapped his backpack and he fell onto the tracks Monday night.
The man identified as Yaw Boahene, 57, was exiting a northbound A-train during rush hour when the closing doors caught on to his bag.
Boahene then fell between the subway cars, onto the rails and got struck by the train as it pulled away.
Police officials said the incident happened at 5.48pm on the A-train line at Utica Avenue.
First responders rushed to the subway station and declared the man dead at the scene after he was found unconscious
